Daniel O Hudson , OH January 23, 2015 Appliance: LG Refrigerator LRSC26923TT Lg Refrigerator Lrsc26923tt / Aticlgb: Water filter head came loose from mounting separated into three component pieces. How to replace Water Filter Head. Turn off the water source. Remove the old filter. Remove the screw and unclip the front portion of the filter cover. You may need to use a small flathead screwdriver to pry the pieces apart slightly so that they will separate when you pull them. The back portion of the cover pops out of place to expose the old filter head. Using wire cutting plyers or a utility knife, cut the inlet and outlet tubes as close to the old filter head as possible. Push the smaller tube in the inlet valve (right side) and the larger tube in the outlet valve(left side). When the tube is fully inserted into the filter head valves it locks in place and is water tight. Mount the filter head frame on the round knob on the inside top of the refrigerator so it's stationary. Clip the rear portion of the cover back in place. Clip the front portion of the cover into the rear portion and into the frame of the filter head. Re-install the screw into the front cover. Insert new water filter, turn it 1/4 turn clockwise to enable the water to flow through it. Put a cup a towel under the drain hole in the cover before testing the filter. Turn on the water source. Run several glasses of water through the filter before drinking. 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
