Steven H. for Model Number GE Model dsxh43ga0ww Serial. Ma704130w The gas dryer apparently, (as it is being used by tenants), is not always igniting and therefore sometimes the clothes get dry and sometimes the flame does not come on and the air is cold. This sounds like it could be an intermittent Sensor and not the igniter, would you agree. The igniter is much cheaper so I don't want to make a mistake.
Answer Hello Steven, Using a clamp on amp meter TJCL1100, you need to check the amperage draw of the ignitor by clamping onto only one of the ignitor wires. If it is working properly, it will read from 3.2 to 3.6 amps of current. If the current draw isn't sufficient, replace the ignitor WE4X750. If the current draw is in range the problem is most likely a bad coil on the gas valve. At the same time, it could be a bad safety valve. Since the problem can be caused by both, and the coils are not shown to be available unless the gas valve is ordered, (since the coils come on the valve), I suggest to replace the gas valve WE14X207.
