This Maytag dryer was bought in 1985 if memory serves. It has worked hard with few repairs done by yours truly over the years. Thanks to the engineering and excellent design by Maytag staff, removing parts are relatively easy. Once I opened the unit, I found it to be full of lint. $4 part and a little time saved $250 if I had had to replace the whole plug-in duel burner unit for our Jenn-Air range. Spade that was replaced fed both burners, other two spades just one. If your burners do not turn on, check the spades before you replace the coils. Read more

I searched YouTube and found several videos that helped me diagnose the most probable cause. I learned how to open the cabinet and access the parts from the videos. I ordered a new discharge hose and a replacement pump. The parts came in the next day with the standard shipping option! It turned out that the old discharge hose was blocked. I decided to replace the pump also since I had the machine open and the new pump was only $22. It's amazing what you can learn online! Read more

Speed Queen is out of stock in the washer door for this model and the appliance repair company said it was on back order indefinitely. I had saved the broken door so I ordered the inner plastic liner and the glass separately and used the saved outer door part and the screws and bracket and the mechanism that inserts into the machine itself to lock the door in place and sandwiched everything together and after a few attempts at the correct order of putting it all together, managed to get it... First remove the back from the washing machine. Top of the machine came off simple. To replace springs, I took a crow bar but it on the right side underneath where one of the springs should be. Lift the tumbler up remove and replace the spring. Did the same thing to the other side. On the tumbling unit there are spaces for three shock absorbers. Mine only had one shock in the middle. I decided the problem was with the gas valve and I found the part on your web site. I ordered it and received the part in 3 days. I replaced the valve and the dryer works like new! This also gave me an opportunity to vacuum out the dust/lint that collects in and around the dryer. Read more

Ordered the full hinge piece and an extra bushing. Was able just to slide the dishwasher forward a bit, lift the right side hinge off its seat and pop in the new bushing without disassembling. Fixed! I am retaining the full hinge piece in case of any future door incident but suspect I will never need it Read more

I previously ordered the heating element, thermostat, and fuse. Also the rear drum rollers. However, after completing that repair I noticed that the terminal block and power cord had some damage from an apparent overheating while allowing the dryer to continue to run in order to dry the clothes. Not having any local Thermador support I took the advise from KC on the repair forum. The repair consisted of removing and replacing the control and relay board. The hardest part of the job was working behind the stove while it was pulled from the wall. ( didn't want to scratch my floor ).
