Darrin for Model Number Kenmore elite refrigerator MN 106.54616300 When I open the left freezer door, water begins to drip out the hole where the water line goes up through the freezer door and connects to the water dispenser on that door. When the freezer door is closed, no dripping. When the freezer door is closed, and I bend and pull on the water line, the dripping happens again. Any suggestion for what is going on would be appreciated. Thank you.
Answer Darrin, Check to see if it is the coupler that is leaking. If it is not and it is coming from inside the freezer door then this will be an issue with a damaged water line. To correct this you would need to replace the waterline part number 8201537. This is not the easiest repair but can be done without service. You would need to remove the dispenser cover and disconnect the water line at the bottom of the door. Make sure that the water supply is turned off. Once you have this done you will then also want to remove the door from the unit. With the door laying on a blanket or sheet with the dispenser facing up, you can remove the tubing that is in the door and then push the new one in place. The reason for removing the door is because when you feed the new line in the hinge would get in the way. Once it is in place, reverse the steps to reinstall the door. Read More...
