Mikeh for Model Number KEMS308GSS1 I have the same lower oven hinge problem and have replaced them three times in the past 6 months, and at least twice before that in the past couple of years. Same part # as the one listed here (4455526), the correct one for the stainless model. The service guy (factory authorized) also replaced a "receiver kit" the last time (part #8185503), but no help. I am super careful with this door, but after two months the hinges are toast. What's odd is the problem is getting worse. When I bought the house in 2007 I needed to replace the hinges at the time, then again every couple of years or so. But now its every couple of months. The oven is a 2002 model and is so far out of warrantee that KitchenAid won't support it. After quite a while on the phone with a service KA supervisor I got an offer for a 10% discount on a new one. Now what?
Answer Mike, Unfortunately we are not aware of any issues with the door hinges. The only thing to do would be to replace the hinges on the unit. We have not heard anything on there being an issue with the door hinges for your model. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, October 17, 2013
