Casey for Model Number kenmore 110 629221100 I just purchased a 3976576 from a website that fixed the problem I had of dryer just shutting off at random times (contacts burned up in timer). Now that is fixed, but sometimes timer runs backwards. I took motor off old timer and put in newly purchased unit and it seems to be fixed. My question is, can I purchase just the motor since I still have a 15 year old "fixed" timer"? I could not return item I bought it from ebay. Thank You
Answer Hello Casey, The only way this could be possible is if the wrong motor were installed in the timer to begin with, since the correct motor for the timer is non-polarized and reversing the wires to it would have no effect. To answer your question, the timer motor for timers was at one time a replaceable part but they have not been available as a replacement part in over 15 years. Read More...
