Crosley Dryer Blower Wheel

Part Number: WP697772

Dryer making rattling noise or not heating properly? A cracked blower wheel disrupts airflow. Moderate DIY repair—requires panel removal and wrench work.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer was getting louder and louder finally it started vibrating horribly i pulled the bottom panel and the blower housing fan teeth were missing   Anthony C. • Newton , KS • June 06, 2015

I wanted to avoid pulling the drum. Luckily, my blower was easily accessed by pulling the front bottom panel. A couple of sheet metal screws were all I needed to remove the fan housing cover. I knew the fan was on reverse threads, i.e. righty-untighty. As it spins it tightens so no need for a retaining nut. I took off a screw holding on the exhaust tube and wiggled it out. I found the broken teeth inside. With the tube out of the way I was able to slide a crescent wrench in back and place... Read more

1. After hearing a loud noise on the freezer side of unit about halfway up, I started investigating what it could be? My conclusion was evaporator motor or evaporator fan blade. One of the signs of this issue was a distinct change in sound when I opened the freezer door. I ordered a new motor and blade, not knowing exactly what it was. 2. The very easy diagnosis was motor seizure. Because the machine is about a decade old, I decided to renovate most of the guts. My DIY project included replacing the motor, blower, drum bearing, belt, and door hinge. The end result is a functional dryer with no left-over parts. Lack of parts and hardware challenged the effort. For example, the blower assembly did not have the slide capture for the motor. I had to use the old one which is showing its age. Crosley Fan Blade
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W10156818

The Fan Blade is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It is essential for circulating air throughout the refrigerator, ensuring that the temperature remains consistent and the cooling process is efficient. The fan blade helps distribute cold air from the evaporator coils to different parts of the refrigerator and freezer compartments, maintaining an even temperature throughout.

Over time, the fan blade can become damaged due to wear and tear, obstruction by debris, or impact from moving items within the refrigerator. If the fan blade is cracked, broken, or loose, it will not be able to circulate air effectively, leading to cooling issues and potential food spoilage.

Symptoms of a bad fan blade include:

  • Unusual noises coming from the refrigerator
  • Inconsistent cooling or warm spots within the compartments
  • The refrigerator running more frequently or for longer periods
  • Frost buildup in the freezer

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.
