Anna R Sherman , TX July 07, 2015 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF268ABRS/XAA-0000 Ice chute cover on fridge wasn't closing ice left in chute was melting and spilling water on fridge and floor Removed control panel, which was the most difficult part of the process. Then removed the ice chute assembly by removing 2 screws and disconnecting 2 wires. Inserted new part, put screws back in and connected the wires. Put control panel back in place and the problem is resolved. The hardest part was getting the control panel off. Removing and replacing the actual part took me no longer than 10 minutes. James L Warwick , RI October 08, 2014 The spring broke on the ice door flap I ordered an Assy Case-Route;a and replaced it . The hardest part was removing the control panel in front of it. Thanks to the previous review on how to put a small screwdriver in the slot underneath to start the clips popping it came off quite easily .After installing it I noticed the flap wasn't tight up against the hole but as soon as I plugged the refrigerator in it positioned it self correctly. It would be nice if the spring was available . Read More... 6 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Vicki B Dallas , TX February 07, 2016 Flap broken Found the assembly on this website. Arrived within 24 hours. Watched videos on-line regarding replacement of other various samsung refirgerators parts. Hardest part was getting the display cover off. Tried tape with putty knife. Not thin enough. Then found a hole under bottom right side of display cover that allowed me to put a small screw driver in and use the leverage to pop the cover off gently. After that I took pics of the original wires for reference. Unplugged old connections, pulled out water line, pulled out old assembly, put in new, reconnected, popped on display cover and good as new. ***Realized how much nasty gunk was in tip of water line and ice dispenser. Before reinserting the water line into groove area on assembly, I cleaned out the tip of water line with a q-tip and bleach. Also disinfected other inside areas. Water tasted completed different/better after cleaning. Successful repair. Was completely surprised by how quick the part arrived. Dennis S Winter Haven , FL January 10, 2017 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF267ABRS/XAA-0000 Ice chute shutoff did not function water paddle was loose Easy fix with this part. Unplug fridge, shut off water, remove screw on panel, pop out panel (carefully) with a thin screwdriver. Note wire connections, remove old unit (2 screws) , clean gunk thoroughly with cleaner. Reinstall all parts, plug in and you're done. * Note ... for some reason Samsung must have changed positioning of the water tube because this part did not provide a slot for the tube to fit in. Simple fix, by measuring and cutting a slot with a cutting tool (or I used an old soldering iron) This is the only thing that could be difficult about this fix, If you are not comfortable with doing surgery on your new part you probably should send back because the retailer probably would not accept return. I found no alternative part number with a pre-cut slot, so I went for it. What else could I do ? Eric G San Diego , CA January 26, 2015 Broken spring on ice dispenser door Thanks to the review for this part on this website, I was able to change out the old assembly with the new relatively easy. The trickiest part was sliding a small flat head screwdriver into the small hold under the front display on the right side to release the first clip. Once I got the first clip off, the rest of the clips came off pretty easy to expose the old unit. After that, it took 10 minutes to remove the two phillips head screws, disconnect the electrical connections, take the old unit out and install the new unit. It works great so far and no more water leaking from melting ice cubes in my ice tray! Michelle M Burnet , TX June 01, 2020 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF268ABRS/XAA-0000 Control panel ice chute door seal Our refrigerator is going on ten years old. About six months after we got it, a few of the LEDs on the display went dim and you couldn't tell what mode it was in most of the time. We chose to overlook this due to the fact that it was working fine otherwise. No issues beyond that until a month ago it started pressing its own buttons and the actual buttons only worked intermittently. Discovered the ice flap behind the display was not closing properly due to a broken spring. This was probably chilling the electronics and causing moisture to activate the switches. Anyway time for a repair, so we ordered some parts and a new seal for the left door. The parts arrived quickly and were an exact fit. We were impressed with the speed of the delivery and everything fit perfectly and works like it should. Entire repair took about 30 minutes. Thanks again AppliancePartsPros! Read More... Paul A Sewell , NJ October 14, 2018 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF268ABRS/XAA-0000 The ice maker was leaking water and ice became solid block of ice the ice route flapper door was broken Appliance Parts Pro had the parts in stock at a great price. Delivery was fast. I removed the screw holding the wiring cover panel and unclipped the lock tab. Ice maker pulled out easily, and installed quickly. Placed wires in channel and installed the cover plate. The ice route took a little work, but it was simple once I figured it out. Removed the screw on the control panel, then had to insert a flat screwdriver to gently pry the sides of the panel so the clips released. Two screws removed the ice route, replaced and all snapped back together. It all works great now. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
