Removed back of dryer. Checked continuity on heating coils, showed open circuit. Removed element box, removed sensor from box. Removed heating element from box, noted break in coil. Ordered new element. Received new element, tested and installed. The old element was about 15 to 20 years old, the dryer is over 40 years old (I bought it used). I have replaced one drum belt, one pulley, one roller and now the second replacement of the element. If only everything was so reliable.
