Started out as a replacement of the coupling between the motor and the basket transmission ( 2 of the 3 legs on the transmission side broken.. )... Bought a new pump, since I would have it off... or so I thought.. Metal output shaft into pump + years of moisture = pump rusted on. Put it all back together - runs fine... for a while.. Then the old pump bearings burn out. Back apart.. Cut the old pump off the motor. Reinstall everything... Nothing, Just sits there and buzzes... Now it's the motor.. Get the new motor.. Works perfectly!! Two things to remember: The Whirlpool units are easy to work on, and never use compressed air to clean out an old motor -- use a vacuum to get debris out of motor.....
