Replaced the bad board–works like a champ now. The bad trace led to the lights in the interior of the fridge side, the freezer side still worked fine, but finding the butter in the dark was not acceptable. The new board seems substantially different, presumably it's a remanufactured or revised board design, which I'm hoping will not suffer a similar burn-out. The Fridge is from 2004, so I'd say the first board had served long enough.
