After Googling the problem, husband and I correctly guessed, with this site's help, that the water inlet valve was probably not turning off properly. After viewing the DIY video of how to install a new valve, he decided he could do it. Part arrived in 2 days - great customer service! It did take a little longer to install due to the new valve assembly having the "quick connect" for the water lines instead of what was on the original part. It took three tries to get those connected fully so that water did not leak from the lines. We had to monitor the process for the first few ice cycles. Husband wasn't crazy about the new connections on the assembly but they aren't leaking now. Overall, the video made the process easy, relatively quick, and definitely cheaper than paying full price for the valve assembly and a repairman to install. The ice maker is in full working order now.
