I spoke with the experts at parts pro and they suspected the main power board. I ordered the main power board along with the control panel. Since I was taking everything apart I decided to replace other components as well- thermostats, thermistor , sensor wire. When I was all done the old LG was back to working like new. I previously ordered the heating element, thermostat, and fuse. Also the rear drum rollers. However, after completing that repair I noticed that the terminal block and power cord had some damage from an apparent overheating while allowing the dryer to continue to run in order to dry the clothes. Vane - Removed the top cover (2 square screws). Spin the dryer until the vane of interest is at the top. Remove 3 (square) screws, replace vane and reinstall. Moisture Sensor - Remove phillips screw holding sensor in place. Reattach 2 leads (can be tricky) and reinstall. Longest part of this task was accessing the back of the dryer given its location in a closet.
