Rudy G Blaine , WA March 23, 2020 Dishwasher door opening too far, bent hinges My daughter fell on the open dishwasher door and bent the hinges so that the door was opening too far and the bottom rack could roll down slope right onto the floor. I initially removed the door cover and pulled the dishwasher out to investigate and could clearly see the bend in the hinges. Ordered the replacement hinges from AppliancePartsPros.com. Replacement: Need Philips, and Torx screwdrivers, adjustable wrench and/or nut driver. 1. Remove kickplate. 2. Remove 2 screws attaching the dishwasher to the counter. 3. Open the door and remove screws holding the door cover on (2 philips screws, two torx screws). You should be able to leave the screws across the top of the door. 4. Hinge should now be visible. Close the door and remove the spring cable that is attached to the hinge. 5. Remove two bolts on the hinge arm (need wrench and torx). 6. Remove pivot bolt (torx). 7. Hinge is removed. 8. Make sure you use the correct replacement hinge (ie left side hinge). 9. Repeat 4 - 8 for the opposite side. 10. Reverse all steps. Done! Order the parts. They arrived quickly. Easy repair, but no indication anywhere that a six-pointed star driver was needed to loosen all the screws holding the door to the assys. After some frustration was able to secure the correct tool and make the repair.
