Seth M Portland , OR December 18, 2022 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher GDT655SSJ0SS GE dishwasher wouldn't start or show lights on the control panel. I started with Google searches for the problem, using the dishwasher model number to narrow down the number of results. When I found several posts in the forum on AppliancePartsPros.com from other people having the same problem with the same dishwasher, as well as solutions that involved replacing the control board, I decided to start with that. The repair was very easy, especially with the help of clear and well-paced videos showing exactly what to do and what to look for. I was able to change out the control board in about 20 minutes. Unfortunately, this didn't solve the problem, so I went back to the forum to see if anyone else was in the same situation. Sure enough, several people had the same issue that persisted even after the control board was replaced. Recommendations from the pros in the forum included a number of tests with a multimeter (which felt like it would be over my head to try) and replacing the user interface board. I ordered the UI board and once it arrived, I used the appropriate instructional video to step through the repair. About 40 minutes later, I reassembled the dishwasher door and the control panel lit up! I ran two loads of dishes today to get caught up and the relief at having a major appliance working again is amazing. Thanks to AppliancePartsPros.com, their forum of knowledgeable experts, and excellent instructional videos that explain and show every step of the repair, I was able to repair a dishwasher myself, instead of waiting for a repair person to have time in their schedule to diagnose the problem, then paying for a service call + parts + labor. My sincere gratitude for the superb customer experience and successful repair! James O East Peoria , IL January 16, 2023 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher GDT695SFL5DS The dishwasher made sporadic beeping noises even when not in use. Later no display or response to buttons but waking up after power cycle finally died. I did the two recommended checks outlined a number of times on your web site: - Check the voltage at pins 2 and 5 for the connector on the power board supplying power to the UI board. 14 volts. OK - Check the status of the green LED on the power board. It was not on continuously, but instead, blinking rapidly (4x / second?) I decided to replace the UI board even though the LED was blinking rather than on continuously. I ordered the recommended UI board (WD21X31902). Though it was marked Out of Stock, it still arrived at my house within about a week of ordering. Way to go, guys! Taking the door apart/replacing the UI board with suitably configured jumpers (personality value =11 for all GDT695 models)/reassembling the door went very well for me (took maybe 20 minutes). BTW, pushing the plastic tabs in while working a putty knife under the bezel to gain access to the UI board worked very well. Pulling out the dishwasher enough to remove the door, and then putting it back later was what took up most of my time. The dishwasher is installed under a quartz countertop, and with little horizontal clearance, the retaining screws were at the side and hard to get at. Plus, the mounting hardware was hanging up on our kitchen cabinetry. Putting the dishwasher back/restoring the sound insulation/putting the kick plate back on took some doing. (I ended up buying some longer 10-32 machine screws for the kickplate.) Like so many of you others that have gone through this journey, when I restored power, I was thrilled to see my dishwasher light up again. I quickly ran a small dishwasher load because I could! It was wonderful to be able to wash dishes again. Again, I’m VERY happy with AppliancePartsPros.com. You made this experience go as easily as it could have gone. Oddly, none of the valuable info from your web pages seemed to be available from GE. Sigh.
