Ge WR09X20002 Refrigerator Temperature Control Thermostat OEM Part

I went on you tube to try and figure out what might be causing this problem. It seemed that the problem was either the temperature thermostat or the defrost timer. I figured that seeing as I had never ever seen any frost in the freezer that the problem probably wasn't the defrost timer. So I ordered the temperature control thermostat, received it the very next day and in ten minutes removed the old one and installed the new one and we were good to go. It's been working just fine for the last week.

Purchased a replacement control that was an exact duplicate of the old control. The old frig temp control had a discontinued part number, however because applianceparts.com has such a good listing and pics of its replacement parts I was able to come up with the exact replacement.

Replaced the thermostat

After removing the rear panel, I vacuumed the area. Then was easy to see condenser fan not spinning. I replaced the fan with a compression ring and a fan motor. First pulled the wiring harness connected to fan motor, then pulled off the fan with hands. Then used a wrench to remove 2 bolts for the motor. Next, pushed on new fan and screwed in the 2 bolts for the motor. Initially, I purchased a new temperature control to replace as well but after replacing fan and motor, I believe it was still functioning. The frig is 10 yrs old, so I replaced it anyway. All is working well.

Followed the repair video on your website to replace the temp control. It was very easy. It took me about 20 minutes to replace the unit. The temperatures on both side are back to normal after 6 hours running.
