Michael C North Truro , MA January 22, 2024 Appliance: General Electric Washer WPDH8800J3MG Leaking rubber gasket GE washer model no: wpdh8800j3mg I replaced the following parts in the GE WASHER that I have owned for approximately 14 years: Part no.: WH08X10038 - rubber gasket Part no.: WH01X10277 - inside gasket clamp Part no.: WH01x10279 - outside gasket clamp The two gasket clamps were ordered on 1/18/24 and delivered the next afternoon to my front door. I already had the replacement rubber gasket from a long time ago. I will mention that I have NEVER tried replacing a part on a major appliance. Since the washer machine is 14 years old, I thought it would be worth a shot. Watching the video of Matt from AppliancePartsPros.com, put me at ease to give it a try. I watched it a few times before I became comfortable enough to complete the repair on my own. I took my sweet time in getting this repair done. It took me just under an hour to get the old clamps and gasket removed. Although my washer was not the exact model in the video, it was easy to follow along, as the machine layout was very similar to mine. The reinstall took me two hours and eighteen minutes. Installing the interior portion of the gasket alone was the most challenging part of the job (about an hour or so) for me. It definitely took considerate effort from me to get the inner part of the gasket affixed accordingly to the inside area. Once it was installed, it was easy to get the inner clamp installed coupled with installing the outer portion of the gasket and outer clamp. Reinstalling the door, lower panel, and top cover was very easy. It is UP AND RUNNING without any LEAKS! William H Palmer , AK October 19, 2020 Appliance: General Electric General Electric GFWH1400D0WW The door gasket/bellow has a tear at the bottom and was leaking onto the floor Step 1: Watch DIY videos to learn how to do it. I am glad I did as you have to take the top cover off first, then the soap dispenser out, then the control panel off, then the front panel/door off, then the door latch off to actually start replacing the bellow. Watching the DIY video save me so much time before I even got started. I also had one extra initial step to remove the drier that site on top of my washer, to get the washer top lid off. Followed the steps in the videos and the old bellow was removed without incident. The most time consuming install of the new bellow was ensuring both the rear and then the front seal were well seated before re-installing the wire clamps. l gave up trying to do it myself and got some help to hold the bellow in place as I set the seals all the way around. Be sure to take time and get these fully set, else you'll have to take it all apart to do it over again, My only recommendation IF your drier sits on top of the washer is to consider having a replacement air dryer exhaust duct and metal tape handy as mine was torn during the removal process. If you don't need it, you can always return it next time in town.
