Jeremy N Deer Park , TX January 15, 2017 Appliance: General Electric Free Standing Microwave JVM1630BK01 My microwave turntable stopped turning I ordered the replacement motor. I unplugged the microwave. Then I simply removed the turntable spindle by lifting it up off the motor from inside the microwave. Next, I removed the 7 screws holing the bottom of the microwave in place. I lowered the bottom of the microwave, giving me access to the motor. I unplugged the two wires connected to the motor, removed the 2 screws holding the motor in place, then put the new motor in place and reversed the steps to complete the job. Darrell K Little Elm , TX February 10, 2026 Grinding noise as drive hub rotated during operation I removed the bottom panel from the outside of the unit, unplugged the wires from the turntable drive motor, removed the old motor and replaced it with the new unit, plugged the wires back in, dropped in a new turntable coupler and put the bottom panel back on.
