Description

This is the air cleaner case assembly that secures an air filter in place for a number of gasoline powered tools built by Echo. A total of more than 145 different Echo power tools use this assembly. It helps provide a clean air/fuel mix that goes through the filter into the carburetors of equipment like cultivators, tillers, water pumps, edgers, reciprocating saws, vacuums, paint sprayers, grass trimmers, and hedge clippers. The one part of a small gasoline powered tool that is universally difficult to keep clean is the air filter. Not only does the filter often become jammed with particulates, but the housing itself protrudes from the engine and is likely to collide with other tools, lumber, curbs, and other obstacles. For this reason, sometime the assembly itself needs to be rebuilt. To use this assembly to rebuild an air filter case, the user must first remove the filter cover and separate the unit from the carburetor intake gasket. This is an ideal time to determine whether that gasket is also worn and needs to be replaced. After the gasket has been checked, the new air filter assembly is secured with the cover in place.
