LG er 1f error code (ice maker fan) Thomas W. • Manassas , VA • March 18, 2019

The repair was extremely straightforward with a few bumps along the way. All told it took me about an hour. I started with shutting off the breaker for the refrigerator and putting all of the frozen food in coolers. Then I removed the drawers and the bracket for the drawer rails on the left side (as your facing the refrigerator). I then proceeded to gently pry off the...

Wouldn't make ice both refrigerator and freezer were getting warmer Mark H. • Newport Beach , CA • August 01, 2015
After a power surge caused by an electrical pole cross-arm breaking, our LG french door refrigerator wouldn't make ice, and both fridge and freezer were getting warmer. The bottom of the fridge doors (and subsequently the compressor) were extremely hot to touch so I took off the back cover and saw that the condenser fan wasn't spinning. After determining that was the issue, I set up an auxiliary fan to push the blades to cool the condenser and ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com (I...

This DC motor powers the appliance's cooling fan to move air across coils and through compartments. Replacing a weak or failed motor restores proper airflow for steadier temperatures and quieter, more efficient operation. What it does:
- Drives the fan that circulates air through the evaporator or across the condenser
- Helps maintain even cooling and prevent temperature swings
- Replaces a motor that won't start, runs intermittently, or makes grinding/squealing noises
- Can help address poor cooling, warm spots, or frost/ice buildup from lack of airflow
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing; wear cut-resistant gloves
- Access the fan area per service information (rear interior panel or machine compartment)
- Transfer the fan blade and any grommets/brackets/screws from the original motor if needed
- Seat the motor securely, route wires clear of the blade, and verify the fan spins freely before reassembly

This fan grille assembly covers and protects the refrigerator's fan while channeling airflow through the vents. Replacing a cracked or missing grille helps restore proper air circulation and can reduce noise and temperature fluctuations.
- Shields the fan blades and prevents items from contacting the intake
- Directs airflow to support even cooling throughout the compartment
- Typical symptoms: broken louvers or tabs, rattling/vibration noises, obstructed airflow, frost or warm spots near the fan area
- Restores the original airflow path and appearance after damage
What's included: 1 fan grille assembly Install notes:
- Disconnect power and clear shelves/drawers to access the panel
- Remove the screws/clips securing the old grille and retain any reusable hardware
- Position the new grille and fasten securely; ensure the fan spins freely and vents are unobstructed
- Restore power and allow temperatures to stabilize

- May cause unusual buzzing/grinding noises or the unit shutting down with a fan-related fault
What's included: 1 indoor fan motor assembly Install notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing; allow moving parts to stop
- Remove the indoor unit cover and access panel; note wire harness connections and routing
- Transfer any brackets, insulators, or hardware from the old motor if required
- Ensure the fan wheel spins freely and does not rub before restoring power and testing
