Kenmore / Sears Range / Cooktop / Oven Motor

After researching the problem, I ordered a new cooling fan. My "fix-it" guy winds up in the ICU for 3 weeks! So...YouTube here I come. It appeared pretty simple in video form, except the video wasn't of my stove. All in all, what looked like no more than a 6 screw removal, turned into tearing 1/2 the stove apart. Very easy fix. Turned of power at breaker. Removed oven door by lowering two "keepers" on the hinges for the oven door and sliding the door out of the oven. Removed the trim plate at bottom of oven by pushing it up.. Removed 2 screws that mount to the frame of the cabinet at the bottom that the trim plate hangs from. Then removed 4 screws that hold the oven into the cabinet at either side of the oven. Put two 5 gallon buckets in front of the oven and slid the oven out onto the side-by-side... Read more

I replaced the downdraft fan and fan motor of my 25 year old JennAire C301 cooktop. The issue was getting the fan/motor assembly out in such a tight place. I had to first remove the fan cover, cut the wires, then the assembly came out. Putting back wasn't as tough although getting the cover back on (over the motor) was a bit of a strain. Wired it back, turned it on, and was thrilled. Now I'll replace the knobs and burners and we're back in business. Read more

Everything was straight forward and easy to repair, I had an appliance tech come out and troubleshoot the repair and watched what he did and asked questions. I then ordered the parts from here and did the repairs myself and saved on having the tech make another trip out. Read more

I removed oven panel and found the fan blades had warped and were hitting the base that fan was mounted to.I turned off the power via circuit breaker,removed fan mounting screws,removed two wires and installed new fan.Reset breaker,oven is nice and quiet now. Read more

I replaced it with an new motor-convection from AplliancePartsPros.com. One note of advice: the fan blade unit inside the oven is held on by being tightened counter clockwise and obviously loosened by turning the nut clockwise (lefty loosey/righty tighty does not apply here). Read more

Simple fix. Power off, remove 14 screws, lift top (use wood blocks to hold), unplug white and black wires from fan motor, twist motor assembly counter clockwise and lift to remove. Take new fan motor and do steps in the reverse. Worked like a champ. NOTE: First part arrived in 2 days but fan was shattered, called Appliancepartspro at 4 PM and had a replacement delivered before 11 AM the next day. Awesome response and customer service. Read more

The motor hummed but the fan didn't turn. Clearly the brushes were burned out. I ordered a new fan, although I had to talk to a human at ApplianceParts because my model was not listed. The part was a perfect fit. The only problem is determining how to remove the over to reach the back, no instructions anywhere online. But trial and error eventually worked. You absolutely need a nut-driver that fits the hex head screws on the oven to remove panels covering the motor, but a cheap... Read more

I opened up the microwave where the noise was coming from. I searched the web to confirm this part could be failing and found the part name and number on appliancepartspros.com. I ordered the part on Monday and it was in my mailbox 2 days later. Two screws and two wire connectors later and the old one was out.
