Michael B Dublin , OH January 07, 2017 Appliance: LG Dryer DLE5977W Lg dryer making loud noises From reading "troubleshooting" sites on the internet, originally thought I'd be replacing the front & rear drum rollers, so I ordered the rollers, and a new belt before I opened up the dryer, taking it out of use. When I opened it up the front rollers were "shot", and the front bulkhead was "totaled". Waited for parts to arrive (within 2 days), and successfully replaced front & rear rollers, bulkhead, drum seal. The on-line videos really helped me ensure I was keeping in the right order. Found the high heat thermostat was defective.I made the mistake of just replacing it instead of investing in the other parts while I had the dryer apart unit was 12 yrs old. The new high heat thermostat failed in a few days so I did what my gut instinct told me in the 1st place & replaced the heater, thermistor, blower thermostat an while I had it apart also replaced the drum seals & belt. Josh B Gravette , AR May 18, 2020 Appliance: LG Dryer DLE2301R Dryer caught fire. I removed the top and front and found a huge ball of lint and other things that slipped between the drum and bulkhead. With the lint catching fire by the heating element it burnt the wire to the moisture sensor. Found the drum seal to be missing. Bought drum seal, adhesive, and moisture sensor. Greased all drum wheels, removed and replaced drum seal, and replaced moisture sensor wire. Put dryer back together and it work as good as new.
