The handle on the refrigerator door was broken and needed to be replaced Richard W. • Baltimore , MD • April 12, 2015
Took off the freezer door, took off the top hinge on the refrigerator door, replaced the handle, re-installed the top hinge and the freezer door. This is a two person job - one to remove the top hinge and replace the handle, while a second person holds the refrigerator door in place. Replacing the handle was easy. The most irritating part was figuring out what parts to order. The drawing of the refrigerator door (Drawing # 4) used to figure out what parts to order was not clear. I paid $8...

The Ice Mold is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. This component forms the ice cubes in the icemaker, shaping the water into cubes as it freezes. The ice mold is crucial for the efficient production of ice, ensuring that each cube is properly formed and easily released into the ice bucket.
You should replace the ice mold if it shows signs of wear or damage. Causes of a bad ice mold can include mineral buildup from hard water, physical damage to the mold surface, or malfunctioning heating elements that prevent ice from releasing properly.
Symptoms of a bad Ice Mold include:
- Ice cubes not forming correctly or being irregular in shape
- Ice cubes sticking to the mold and not dispensing
- The icemaker not producing ice at all
- Leaks around the icemaker area
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Ice forming in the ice cube bin Bill J. • Scottsdale , AZ • December 13, 2014
I have a Whirlpool Side-by-side Model ED22PWXBW01. A year ago, the ice cubes started freezing together in the rear of the ice bin for no apparent reason. Although the problem started off small, it gradually grew much worse, and finally I could see water dripping out of the ice mold and into the bin during the fill cycle. Re-levelling the refrig didn’t help, nor did adjusting the cube size / fill level.
With guidance from the video, I removed the icemaker from the wall of the freezer. The...

This ice maker shut-off arm is the wire lever that detects the ice bin level and stops production when raised. Replace a bent, broken, or missing arm to restore reliable on/off control of your icemaker.
- Monitors bin fullness; in the up position it opens the internal switch to pause ice making
- Lowers as ice is used so the icemaker can resume cycles
- Restores manual shutoff when you lift the arm
What's included: One shut-off arm Install notes:
- Disconnect refrigerator power and turn off the water supply before servicing
- Remove the ice bin for access; open the icemaker front cover if your model has one
- Pull the old arm straight out of the pivot holes; align and fully seat the new arm so it moves freely
- Restore power and lower the arm to resume ice production; the arm raises and stops production when the bin is full

Ice stripper removes ice cubes from the ice maker mold so the dispenser or storage bin fills properly. Replacing a worn or broken stripper helps the ice maker eject cubes cleanly and reduces ice jams or stuck cubes. What it does:
- Pushes or guides harvested cubes out of the ice mold into the bin during the ice maker's harvest cycle.
- Prevents cubes from sticking in the mold; a damaged stripper can cause incomplete ejection or leftover ice in the mold.
- Works with the ice maker's ejector mechanism to maintain consistent cube release and storage.
- A faulty or broken stripper may lead to noisy operation, partial fills, or visible ice build-up in the mold.
What's included: One ice stripper. Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair to avoid electrical shock.
- Remove the ice maker or access panel per the manufacturer's instructions to reach the stripper; keep small parts and screws organized.
- Inspect the ice mold and surrounding components for damage or ice build-up; clear ice before installing the new stripper.
- After installation, restore power and run a test harvest cycle to ensure proper cube ejection.

Checked out the video on your site on how to disassemble the ice maker. Was really easy when you know the correct sequence. Only 3 screws and it's out of the freezer. Disassembled the ice maker on my kitchen counter and replaced the ice stripper. Reassembled and installed back in my freezer. It is as good as new

Not making ice. Alan S. • Las Vegas , NV • May 17, 2020
Replaced the ice maker. The kit came with everything I needed to replace the ice maker. Parts that did not come with the kit were re-used from the old one. My Whirlpool refrig/freezer is an older model so the wiring harness that came with the kit was different from my existing. So instead of disconnecting the ice maker wiring harness from the freezer, I had to disconnect the harness at the ice maker. That was a b..... Anyway after about 20 minutes, finally unhooked the connector. I had...
