Bought a used Frigidaire 36 inch stove. The broiler didn't come on but the burners lit and the stove worked so I made do for about 4 or 5 years with that. One day, while trying to roast chicken on the convection roast setting, my Electrolux oven stopped heating properly. I tried the broil setting and the top electric heating element worked fine. I then tried the bake setting and found that the bottom element wasn't working at all. I Googled the problem. I purchased 2 new light rocker switches, Because the heating element rocker switch was unavailable. First I removed the power source for safety. Then I simply pulled each switch out individually with a flathead screwdriver for leverage. I simply unplugged the wires from the old rocker switch, discarded the old rocker, plugged the wires into the new rocker switch, and pushed the new switch appropriately back into the control panel. When trouble shooting the problem I found that the light switch housing outer lip was broken allowing the switch to push through mounting surface behind the oven door. This is a slide in range so, I proceeded to pull the range away from the counter where I could unplug the power cord. Once the power was off like located the panel on the right upper side of the unit and removed the screws to allow access to the switch. Replacing the trim takes a little bit of alignment and light force. The trim slides over the glass panel of the door, with the glass sliding into plastic tabs. We kept the door nearly vertical (almost closed), lined up the tabs on the trim with the glass door, and used mild force to slide the trim down onto the glass door. Very easy fix. Lifted off the grill and burner. Unscrewed 2 screws. Pulled the burner pan up and off. Disconnected the wire to the igniter. Used needle nosed pliers to remove the clip holding the igniter in place. Removed the gasket from the old burner pan. Placed the new igniter in the hole of the new burner pan and slipped the old clip on the igniter to hold it in place. Then put the old gasket on the new burner pan.
