Steve, You will want to hold onto the part just incase needed but it does not appear to be an important part. It may go on one of the edges to keep anything from rubbing on it.

Hello Paul. Remove outer door, remove fascia panel & disconnect wire harness from fascia panel. Disconnect wire harness from above dispenser, then remove wires to wax motor & reed switch. Disconnect condensation tube (for older models with condensationtubes in doors). Bend retainer tabs, the push dispenser inward toward tank. Protect hand with towel as edges are sharp. Replace from inside of tank position O-ring seal and bend tabs to secure. When replacing dispensers 00645208, lubricate O-rings with rinse-aid & support inner doors to avoid damage if O-rings stick. Hope this helps.

Hi John. The dispenser is part # 00645208. Remove power (breaker). Remove 6-inner panel screws on the inside of the panel. Not the screws at the top holding the control. Keep hands on front of the panel, as it will fall out the bottom. Remove wire connections at the dispenser. Carefully bend up the metal tabs holding the dispenser in place (inside of inner door). Push the dispenser out into the tub area to release. Careful as not to let it fall into the tub and damage parts. Gently re bend the inner metal dispenser tabs so it will accept and hold the new part. Install the front panel by closing inner door 1/2 -way. Insert the top of the outer panel 1st under the bottom side of the control panel. Hold panels together as you install inner screws. Turn power back on. Thank You.
