For Bosch Dishwasher Sump Wash Pump Housing (Part Number: OEM11862462)

Hello Bruce, if it is not an underfill then check the water manifold tube up to the rack-mounted spray arm and the connection to the spray arm supply tube. Check the arm can turn freely. If there are no loose connections then the wash/circulation motor may have a problem and not supplying enough water flow/pressure.

Bob A. for Model Number Bosch Dishwasher SHX46A05UC43

Hello, Our Bosch Dishwasher SHX46A05UC43 frequently, but not always, fails to complete a washing cycle. The result of this is that some soap is left in the machine and water remains at the bottom of the machine's interior. The drain line is clear as are the filters. The check valve is clean and appears to work properly. Also, the disposal is clear when the problem happens. Any suggestions as to possible causes would be appreciated.

Bob, make sure there is a "loop" in the drain hose, "Must have drain hoses with high loops (min. 20”high), even with air gaps.Make sure drain hoses aren’t kinked." Make sure the dishwasher is level in both directions, Start the dishwasher, let it fill and start to wash, unlaatch the door and remove the lower dishrack, the water level in the bottom of the tub should be 1/2 to 3/4 " deep. If not the machine doesn't have enough water to properly circulate and drive the wash arms to wash the dishes.

Terry, the valve would need to be tested to identify if it is receiving 120VAC when it should be filling. If there is 120VAC, then the water supply tube will need to be checked for any kinks and the supply valve verified as being in the on position. If there is not 120VAC, the float switch 00165256 will need to be tested to identify if there is continuity from the white wire terminal to the violet wire terminal (while unit is turned off). If there is continuity, then the main control 00705687 is the likely culprit.

David, This issue sounds like the control module may not be sending power to the pump during the cycle or you have a bad impeller on the drain pump. You will want to test for power to the pump assembly and check the impeller for damage.

Hello Herschel. Make sure all the filters are good and clean. If so, the unit is not filling enough and you will need to replace the water valve.

Bought a new garbage disposal and forgot to knock out the DW drain plug during the install. The wife ran the dishwasher later in the day, and just left it going (and going and going...) while it was trying to get the water out. After I got home, she told me it wasn't draining and I realized what my mistake was right away. I knocked out the DW plug in the disposal, but now the dishwasher makes an awful loud noise during the first portion of the wash cycle. It seems fine when actually draining and washing though. What part do you think may have gotten damaged in this scenario?

1 Answer

Tom, You will want to check down in the pump to make sure that there is nothing caught in the pump. This is what this issue sounds most likely could be.

Armondo, You will want to remove the kickpanel and the water valve and check to see if there is water standing in the base. If there is then you will need to remove the base to check to see where the leak is coming from. It is possible that the water valve could be leaking causing this issue. Normally in that case it would trigger the flood switch and the unit would just continuously try to drain but this is something you will want to check.

My d/w will not drain. We've experienced troubles in the past and are truly disappointed with this dishwasher. When it will not drain during cycle it floods my kitchen. With this being said, I realize that I need a door seal and in the past we have had a repair man from sears, look at it as well and he too hasn't a clue to what is the major malfunction. The drain lines aren't plugged is all we can say. When turning the actuator, or the impeller, the first turn was extremely tight. Help?

1 Answer

Melissa, The first thing to determine is whether or not the drain pump is getting power to it. If there is power to it but not draining then the issue will be with the drain pump. If there is no power then check the wiring between the drain pump and the control module for breaks. Based on the issue it sounds like the drain pump would be the issue but the unit should also not fill with water if the drain is not pumping the water out so you will also want to look at a possible float switch being bad or a bad control board.

Bosch DW SHU33A06UC/22 washes ok but after wash cycle I get an intermittent loud odd noise - my guess is during a sump pump cycle, sounds like an impeller not completely seated / slipping / wore out. Unit seems to drain ok, noise lasts 5 seconds or so then goes away - maybe binding due to a bearing. Happens a couple time during the end of the washing cycle - in Normal wash. I have not tried to trouble shoot via a schematic, curious how many moving parts operate during the sump cycle. Is it one pump that does it all?

1 Answer

KC, The only thing that is going during the drain cycle would be the drain pump which is part number 00167082. This would most likely be the cause for this issue.

Chris for Model Number SHU6806UC/U11

Hello, My dishwasher will not drain. Can you please provide me a basic troubleshooting outline? I have done some research and it appears I need to first check for a clog. I am guessing to do this, I'll disconnect the hose from the disposer and try to back flush water into the dishwasher? If I need to replace the drain pump, would you kindly specify the needed parts? Can those be replaced from inside the unit or will it need to be pulled out? I have ignored this project since March and there is still a small amount of standing water. I read where someone used CLR to decalcify the pump workings. Is that recommended. Much of the unit's workings are covered with white buildup. Thanks so much for your advice.

1 Answer

Hello Chris. No, you will remove the hose and place it into a bucket and then see if water comes out. If not, then you remove the hose from under the unit and see if water will come out there. If so, and the pump works, you will clear/replace the drain hose.
