Check to see if you have damaged wiring at the door hinge. Wires could be damaged and shorted. Also, the board that contains the relay for the auger is in the door it would be part number 241527601.

Tony, it would be recommended that the user interface 5304527929 wire connections are inspected for anything being loose. If secured, the red wire and the black wire at connection J4 of the interface can be tested for 12 VDC. If there is voltage, the user interface control has failed and would need to be replaced. If there is not voltage, the wires at the hinge of the door would need to be inspected for any broken wires.

Cperone, The only things that are really in common is not a voltage supply but a water supply. You can test for voltage at the water valve as you press the dispenser and see if you're getting 120vac. If the voltage is present and no water dispenses then you would need to replace the water valve as long as no water is frozen anywhere in the system.242252702 is the water valve.

Have no water or ice being dispensed, no lights on control panel. ( ice maker works) I've read some advice pointing to the power board, or the control board, ribbon cable...... ( when I depress the freezer door switch the interior freezer light goes off). how do I test to see which part is bad ? as the power and control boards are too expensive to just change out. I assume there's a connection point somewhere on the power board where I can test with my multimeter if power is getting to the board........and if so...if that power is getting to the control board via the ribbon cable ? Thank you! Dave

Steve for Model Number FRS6L9EESS5

Had to replace the water dispense panel. In the process the ribbon wire became dislodged from the control panel. After I reassembled the ice dispenser assembly, I plugged the ribbon wire back in to the control panel. Now the ice maker auger runs continuously with crushed ice and the water light stays lit although the water dispenser will not work. Light stays on for Cube but pressing buttons has no effect. I did unplug the ribbon wire and try re-plugging the other way (not sure which is correct and which is backwards). Did this a couple times while power still plugged in - realized after reading a couple posts that this may damage control board. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

The water runs constantly it even runs when the control board is unplugged. It still makes ice fine. When I plug the main board (power board) in it comes on and only stops when you open the door, this is with the control board un plugged. I have replaced the ribbon cable with no results. The micro switch has checked out ok. Is the control board bad? How do j check the power board, control board to see if either is the problem? you for any help that you can provide. John M.

John, You need to check or replace the 242252702 Water Fill Valve, and water supply line to the refrigerator. If you open the freezer door, or disconnect the harness from the dispenser board, the power should be removed and the valve should turn off. If water continues to flow, it's usually a mechanical failure of the fill valve or a water pressure problem.

Hello Brandon, You either have low water to the water valve or the water valve 242252702 is failing. This is of course if power is not being supplied to the water valve at the time of the failure indicating a failed actuator switch 241685703.
