Dean for Model Number GLEB30T8A

Hi, While baking at 400 degrees oven displayed an F7 error. I was able to clear it and continue using the oven. After I was done and the oven was off (still warm and displaying the time, as usual), it started flashing an F2 error. I couldn't cancel this error out. Power cycling the oven's breaker brought back the F2 error immediately, which cannot be cleared. F2 and F7 seem to be errors related to temperature. Should I be looking at the temperature sensor? Or is this likely an issue with the control board? Thanks in advance!!!

1 Answer

Dean, Based on the information provided the F& has to do with the door latch assembly and the F2 refers to a failing oven sensor/probe.

Danny for Model Number PLEB30T8CCB

Hello, Top unit bottom bake element stopped working - broil still worked. Swapped bake element from top unit to bottom unit, bottom unit to top unit - only worked in the bottom unit. Continuity checks out but no voltage when baking turned on so the element seems good. Several weeks later, the same thing happened to the bottom unit bottom element. Broil is still working on both upper and lower units. Is it likely that both relays died weeks apart or is there something more central (controller/clock)?

1 Answer

Danny, when the unit is put into bake, both the bake and broil should cycle on and off. If the broil will cycle on when the unit is in bake, then the relay board (lower relay is part 318022001, and upper relay is part 318022002) has failed. If neither bake element or broil element cycle when the oven is turned onto bake, then it is likely that the clock/timer control 318010501 is not functioning properly.

The top oven works, but the lower oven does not. The lower oven does not respond to buttons BROIL, BAKE, or CLEAN. This occurred after running the lower broiler on HI for a while. Pressing those buttons does nothing on the screen. I swapped the top and bottom main 3 relay wires on the two boards and the lower oven worked, but the control panel was of course seeing it as the lower oven. I did not swap the other wires though, convection motor, etc. I also verified the temp circuit breaker was shorted properly and the red button caused a temporary open. Is the control board 318010501 bad?

1 Answer

Nicholas, the most likely case as the button selections will only work for one side of the user interface is going to be that the user interface [318030214] has failed. There is a small chance that the main control 318010501 has failed, but the user interface should be sending signal to the main control for both ovens as the user interface will receive voltage for both sides from the same pin.

Joe, Test to see if there is 240 vac from Bake to L2 on the oven control board when the unit is turned to bake. If there is proper power then element would be the issue and if there is no power then the control board is faulty and would need replaced. There is also a thermal protector on the back of the unit you will want to make sure that it is not tripped.

Dean, You're loosing the L1 power leg of the circuit to the clock, you'll need to check for any loose connections at the terminal bock from the wall, and wiring to the relay board inside the control panel area. Check for loose wires and connections between the ERC/Clock and the relay board 318022002 / 318022002. If all's OK, replace the relay board.

Jeff, If you have tested the element and it is good then this will be a control board issue. The relay board needed for this upper oven will be 318022002.

Tanya, You should be able to change this by pushing the clock button. If you push the button and then try to use the up and down keys, check to see if this will work or if you press and hold the clock key for approximately 3 to 5 seconds.

John, You will want to check the power at the wall for 240 vac. If there is proper power then check at the terminal block for 240vac. If these check ok then you will want to check the wiring between the terminal block and the control board on the unit to make sure that there are no damaged wires. If this all checks ok then the issue will be the control board.

Hello Peter. Test the thermal cut outs on the unit. If all are testing good, you will need to order and replace the relay board in the unit.
