Kelly for Model Number 253.54662402

Hello Appliance parts, I have a Kenmore side by side (253.54662402) that is accumulating ice/water on the bottom of the freeze. That is to say that water is accumulating on the bottom of the freezer and then freezing. The overflow tube is frozen over. I cleared it and there was no ice on the bottom of the freezer for about a week and then the over flow tube froze over again. And I started seeing ice/water on the bottom again. Ice/water accumulates on the bottom of the freezer about every 1 1/2 to 2 days. And I check several times a day. I remove the ice on the bottom of the freezer every 1 1/2 to 2 days. I estimate it is about 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup water in about 2 days. I have been trying to figure out where the ice/water is coming from. When I turn off the ice maker the ice/water still gets on the bottom of freezer. I checked to see if the ice maker is filling when a glass of water is filled. And it is Not. My best guess is that it might be condensation. Maybe the defroster coming on too often? Or staying on too long? But it seems like a lot of water to be condensation. Do you have any Ideas. Thanks Kelly

Mark for Model Number EW23CS65GS2

Thank you for your expertise and access to ALL my appliance parts. ISSUE: Having water accumulating on the pan below the water dispenser. Replaced Valve (#242252702) which solved much of the problem. Still see a little bit of water accumulating throughout the day. Looking up into the ice chute, I see a bulk of condensation accumulating on the lower black plastic assembly below the white plastic (silver dollar sized) door. Freezer set to Zero; Fridge set to 40 degrees Any suggestions? Mark

Hello Mark. You need to check and see if the dispenser module 242100018 is bad on the unit and not sealing good. If so, it could cause the issue you having with the unit.

Hello Mickey. You need to check for power to the motor. If there is none, check the power board in the dispenser assembly.

Adrian for Model Number FRS26ZSHB3

I have no water coming out on the dispenser and the ice maker does not make ice; here is what I replaced so far: The whole icemaker unit Both water valves I also check the lines, it’s no blocked or frozen; I can disconnect and blow air thru it. Water pressure is good When pressing the water dispenser I can hear the activating(I guess the solenoids of the values) from the back of the fridge. Do you think is this diode is bad? If so, should I replaced both diodes? Per the wire diagram I should have two. Also where's the location of the diode, is it by the water value? Thank you

Adrian, If the diodes were bad then the valves would not activate when you push the dispenser. You would also have a case where there would be water coming out of the wrong place on the unit. If pushing dispenser you would get water from both the icemaker and dispenser. The 2 things that you should check would be, first does the unit have a good water filter in it. Second, is the water tank frozen. If the water tank is frozen it will cause this issue.

Matt for Model Number FRS26ZSH

Hi I ordered part 240567001 for refrigerator FRS26ZSH based on a previous Q&A reply. Both the ice and water dispense valves are being activated when using the water dispenser. However, I'm unable to determine where to replace this part on the fridge, I have opened up the back of the fridge and it's not located on any of the wire bundles leading to the water valves. I have yet not disassembled the freezer door dispenser to see if its there. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Randy, It may not be the board that is causing the dispenser to only dispense crushed and not cubed. You will want to pull the ice bin out, there is an opening where the arm from the dispenser goes into the auger motor housing. There is a solenoid there. Either that solenoid is stuck in the up position or the solenoid 241675704 arm has broken and does not go up and down.

Randy, You probably don't need any board. You need to check the shifter lever assembly on the side of the bin, and make sure the end of the shaft is inside the solenoid yoke. If you remove the ice bin, select cubed ice, hold the freezer door switch closed and press the paddle, you should hear and see the yoke and solenoid activate and lift up, if not, check or replace the "cube" solenoid 241675704 in the motor housing on the back of the bin assembly rail.

Hi David. Remove power. Remove Fountain controls to access the switch board assy. It is right behind the keypad. Is there a stuck cube switch? Unhook the ribbon cable from this to the power board part # 241708309. If the auger stops after unhooking the switch board, Then you will need to replace the switch board part # 241708309. Also double check the paddle switches to see if the ice switch is not stuck. Isolate this switch and see if it stops auger turning constantly. Part # 241689106. Thank You.
