Hello Sharon. Make sure the condenser coils are clean and the condenser fan motor is running properly. If this is good, then the main board on the unit may be bad and need to be replaced.

John, You do not have to shut the water off to the unit in order to change the water filter. As for the water filter indicator, push the change water filter pad on the dispenser for 3 to 5 seconds to reset the indicator.
