Brandy January 11, 2019 for Model Number FFEW2725PWC We have a Frigidaire wall oven and the bake setting and the broil setting are not working, what could cause this?
1 Answer Brandy, there are a few things that could be occurring. Your wall oven has a safety thermostat that can open up and not allow voltage to get to your elements, there may not be a full 240v AC getting to your wall oven, or the control module may not be functioning properly. The first thing you will want to check is that 240v is getting to your control by testing the lone black wire at L1 and the lone red wire at P7 with a multimeter. With a meter probe on both wires, you should read 240v. If not, you will want to go to the safety thermostat by following that lone red wire until it ends at the thermostat. You can check for voltage at the thermostat by placing one probe on a grounded green wire and using the other probe to test each connection of that thermostat for 120v AC. If only one connection reads 120v and the other connection doesn't, then you have an open thermostat 318003624. If a full 240v is going to the control, then you will want to test the elements. To do this, you will want to turn the power to the oven off at the breaker. Once off, you can test the elements at the control by removing the orange wire at P4 and measure continuity from that wire to the black wire at P3 for the broil element, and the yellow wire at P2 for the bake element. Both should give you continuity and a resistance reading. If they do, then you will need to replace the main control 5304506991. If you did not get continuity and resistance readings from either, you will want to check those three wires for any breaks and if there are no breaks or shorts, you will want to replace the elements. The broil element is 5304523477 and the bake element is [318902502]. Read More...
