Anthony, When you look at the control board there will be a CN4 connector and is a 9 pin connector and you will test pin 1 to pin 7 for resistance. The resistance of the thermistor at 0 degrees should be approximately 17K ohms.

Raven, If the refrigerator is cooling down to the proper operating temperature then there would be nothing that needs to be done. If the unit is sitting in a garage it may be that the garage is too hot. The ambient room temperature should be between 55 and 95 degrees and you will want to make sure that there is nothing surrounding it which would cause heat to be trapped in. The high temp alarm will not come on unless there is a high temp above 15 to 20 degrees.

Kevin for Model Number GE FUF 17SVCRWW

I have this GE FUF 17SVCRWW upright freezer. After a few years the digital display on the control panel dose not light up. Other than that the freezer seems to be working properly. Keeping temp at 14 degrees F. I did remove the panel and put it back in - no change - still no display and the freezer is working well. I am just wondering should I be concerned that the freezer could stop working? It has performed well like this for several years. Thank you!
