Alex, The main control board sounds like it would be the issue with the unit. It would be recommended to replace the main board and the wiring harness.

Joe, Since the washer works once it's reset the most likely issue is a "glitch" in the user interface/ display board assembly EBR61020701. You want to check and make sure there aren't any loose connections, unplug and re attach the connectors between the two boards, If the problem persists, replace the display board assembly. The part is in stock and available at this time. Thanks

Sammie for Model Number LG WM2016CW

After thumping an unbalanced load last week, my washer stopped working. Took it apart and saw that there was fraying in the wires coming from the main power board to the control panel. Replaced the wires with a new set, but still having the same problem. Machine will beep when I press the power button, but no lights come on in the display. Do you think a new control panel will fix this? Could the problem with the wires have affected the control panel?

Hello Sammie. Test for power to the board. If it is there, then replace the board. It is possible the wires shorted the board in the unit.

Hello Tom, You will need to run the QC test mode. The washer must be empty and the controls must be in the off state. 1. Press the SPIN SPEED and SOIL LEVEL buttons simultaneously. 2. Press the Power button, while in the above condition. Then buzzer will sound twice. 3. Press the Start/Pause button repeatedly to cycle through the test modes. The tech sheet goes into detail on the procedure and interpreting the fault codes. It should be located behind the kickpanel. While the hot water valve 5220FR2006H is the first suspect, the control EBR32268001 can also cause this complaint.

Kerry, To remove the control knob you would want to take the control panel off and remove the control board from the unit. This should allow the knob to come off.

Hello John. It is a little tricky removing the control panel. Once the panel is removed, it is easy to do. There are no instructions with the part, but if you remove the top of the machine, and the screws holding the control panel on, it is not to hard to do. Hope this helps.
