Questions & Answers

For Lg Refrigerator Control Board (Part Number: OEM17959836)

1 Answer

Erik, the main control EBR78940615 is going to be the most up-to-date version that the manufacturer provides. However, the frost build-up could be a failure of the defrost heater MEE62705114 or the defrost sensor and fuse assembly 6615JB2005R. The sensor should read more than 30KO when frozen up and the attached fuse should have continuity. The defrost heater should measure between 105-117O.

Tammie, The 22 is not an error and would be that the unit is in the test mode number 2. There is a button on the main control board that you would want to push to advance it out of the test mode. If the unit will not come out of this mode then yes the main control board would be the issue.

Michael Q, Based on the information provided it sounds as if the issue could be power surges on the electrical supply line and/or low voltages at times.

Boomer, Thanks for the question!!! Since you have replaced your heater and sensor, the main control could be the issue. It may not be reading the sensor properly and feels that it does not reach temp in the set amount of time.

Hello Bob, this is likely a sealed system problem from your description and involving the compressor, suggest you contact a service tech familiar with the brand to check further.

Anthony, unfortunately, we do not have a video available at this time for this control. However, the control would need to be accessed from the back of the entire unit. With the refrigerator unplugged, there will be an access panel located just above the compressor section. Once the screws are removed from this panel and it is taken off, the control panel will be held in by tabs that would need to be pressed in to release the control. It is recommended that a picture of how the wires are installed is taken or that the wires are switched out one at a time.

Paul for Model Number lg lfxs30726

I installed a new ice maker, which works just fine, The ice maker dispenser motor does not work. I can turn it by hand , so it is not frozen. I am sure all the wires got plugged in correctly as there was 3 wires and a ground for this motor. When I push the dispenser button. I hear the flap open etc.which makes you think you will get ice-but nothing. The water dispenser works fine. Is there a way to test the motor as installed? Is there a circuit board only for the dispensers- separate from the main circuit board. If so- where is it located? I replaced the ice maker due to a water leak and the dispenser worked fine before replacement.

1 Answer

Hello Paul, it is unlikely there is a problem with either the auger motor or the main control board that powers it, More likely is a loose wire connection to it in the area where you had installed the new ice maker. Suggest you recheck all wiring connections, loose terminals in connectors to the auger motor and if it has an extended harness .

James for Model Number LFXS30766S

I have gotten error code r dH several times & have had frost buildup in the back of the fridge. I replaced the defrost sensor/fuse assembly in the fridge & checked that the heater is 110 ohms (within the 103 to 119 range as given in service manual). The frost returned after 2 months, causing the fridge and freezer to get warm - sensor, fuse, and heater resistances still seem fine. Fridge still gets cold after manually clearing the frost. I am starting to suspect something is wrong with the controller itself. Does that seem plausible?

1 Answer

James, if the defrost heater, fuse, and sensor are testing properly, then based on the information provided the main control EBR78940615 would be the most likely failure.

Kp for Model Number LFXS30766S

My LG LFXS30766S French 3-door fridge is not cold any more. the condensor fan is on, and the compressor is on. I found out that both evaporator fans are not running. I tested the continuity and with 13V supply. The fan works with the external DC supply. I tested the fan supply from the PCB, and got only 800mv. Thus, i suspect either the main control board is bad or the sensor. I am not sure what to do next. Please advise. BTW, does the evaporator suppose to be "cold" even without the fan? I dont feel any cold at old after disassemble the freezer to expose the evaporator coil. Any advise to fix my fridge are highly appreciated. it's only 3 yrs old fridge :( Thanks a lot. KP

KP, If there is no power going out to the fan motors then this will be an issue with the main control board of the unit.
