Alan October 29, 2016 for Model Number SMH9187W I have no display lights on microwave. I checked the two fuses on small board.....they are good. I would like to test to see if there is power going into the main board but don't know how. I have a tester Can you tell me which wires to check and what the voltage is ac or dc? I have power at a black/white plug that is on another smaller board above the main board...120v ac. I hesitate to purchase the main board until I'm sure that is the problem. Can you help me diagnose this? Thank you, Alan
1 Answer Alan, You will want to check the 2 pin connector which should be the P1 connector across both terminals and there should be 120 vac at that point. If there is then the the main board is getting power and this will most likely be the issue with the unit. Read More...
Alan W October 23, 2016 for Model Number SMH9187W I have no display lights...nothing. Wife punched in time to cook something ...hit enter and all the display lights went out. I checked the two fuses located on the small fuse and main power small board and even changed them...nothing. I checked the black and the white power plug that plugs into this board and had 120 v. Do you think the main control board might be bad? We had it replaced about 2 years ago from a Samsung recall...it kept giving error code but it has worked perfect since. If you can help me know how to see if the board is bad or if I need to check something else, your help would be greatly appreciated and I will purchase parts from you if needed. Thank You, Alan
1 Answer Hello Alan. Yes, the board is bad on the unit. If there is power coming to the board and nothing coming out, or no display, you will need to replace the control board on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

John January 18, 2016 for Model Number SMH9187B/XAA I have received a "SE" error. I removed the control panel and cleaned the ribbon wire with eraser and removed the other junctions, sprayed them and replaced. I am still getting the SE error. The unit is 3 yrs old. I believe that if i were to replace the control panel assembly (black housing, key pad, membrane, etc) that would resolve the problem. Just swap out the entire control panel. Do you agree?
Alex November 24, 2014 for Model Number smh9187w Is this part white or black? I need white, but in the posted questions the link to white is just this same page/part. Is white available?
Mike October 20, 2014 for Model Number samsung smh9187 The control panel display seems to always bring up the my settings options. I run thought the options and it will eventually clear and go back to the normal clock display, however after a few minutes it goes back to the my settings options. I figured it would likely be a bad touch pad, but all the problems listed on your webpage for changing out the control pad was for an error SE or S5 code, which I dont get on the display. So before I purchase the control pad I wanted to ask if you think it might be another part that needs to be replaced. Thanks
1 Answer Mike, This issue does sound like it would be a keypad issue with a key being shorted or stuck. This would be an issue where the keypad would would be replaced. Read More...
