Michael October 04, 2021 for Model Number philomathcowboy@yahoo.com For replacing the control panel on MGS5770ADW, I have removed all screws I can see, but are there additional screws on the side plastic covers for the panel that would require sliding the range out some to access? I can share pictures if this helps to understand my question. I actually replaced this years ago, but cannot find instructions now online for opening up the front panel to replace the panel.
1 Answer Michael, There will be screws that should hold the endcaps in place that would need to be removed to get the control panel off. Read More...
Diane April 19, 2020 for Model Number MGS5770ADB Are there instructions on removing and installing part WP5760M305-60 control board?
1 Answer Hello Diane, the manufacturer has not supplied instructions for this part, however the access to the control is fairly basic, this model being a slide in you would turn off power to the stove. open the oven door, remove the screws under the from the control panel, there may be a set of screws on each of the panel also, the control panel should tilt down to allow access to the control. If it does not you will need to access the rear of the stove and remove the cooktop rear hold down crews also remove the cooktop gas burners which twist off and then the 2 hold down screws that were under the burners to release the orifice holder brackets, tilt the cooktop up in rear and lift off, that will access the control board. Vince July 29, 2018 for Model Number MGS5770ADC how to replace control board wp5760m305-60 mechhanocally to remove and replace it
1 Answer Vince, turn off power, remove knobs and screws that hold switches, there may be screws that hold the console to the front panel, remove those screws and check to see if there are any screws on the ends of the console. Once all screws are removed, pull console off and you should have access to the control board. Take pictures of wires and were they go before removing to help in instatllation of the new board. Robert January 09, 2018 for Model Number MGS5770ADB 10 yr old Stove was working good until the wife did a 4 hr clean(don't ask me why she would do that). 3 hr into it, it beeped and flash a "F9" error and now top element wont light. is it the latch or control board?
1 Answer Robert, You will want to check the door lock assembly and see if the switches on the latch are good. If they are then the control board will likely be the issue. Read More...

Mel November 18, 2015 for Model Number MGS5770ADB Hello, My range is gas, but the electric control panel quit working. This happened on a day where out power went out a couple of time and out generator came on. Everything else in house is fine. The oven light does come on. Any ideal if this is control panel? or what else could it be. thank you Mel
1 Answer Hello Mel. You need to test for power to the board and if it is there, replace the board WP5760M305-60 on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Donna December 14, 2013 for Model Number MGS5770ADW Oven control panel? Set temp on oven would maintain, IF the timer was used. Started using alternate manual timer, when baking at 350 or 375 degrees, continued baking like this for a few months. A few days ago had the oven set at 400, the control panel beeped when the set temp was reached, but then the oven started cooling off - after checking the pies after the instructed 30 minutes, the dough was still raw and not even starting to brown. The reading on the control panel continued to show 400. Cancelled the setting and re-set at 350 and all worked fine. Can't really decide if the problem is the control panel or the temp. sensor?
1 Answer Hello Donna. Based on the information you provided, the control board is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...
David S August 10, 2013 for Model Number mgs5770abq Stove makes ticking noise during and after the stove is shut off. We have to throw the breaker to get it to stop also the temp can go higher than the setting.
1 Answer David, For the temperature being higher than the setting you will want to check the oven sensor for resistance. The resistance value should be 1090 ohms at room temperature. For the ticking noise the most likely issue would be a bad spark module. Read More...

Peter C. March 20, 2012 for Model Number MGS5770ADB The control panel on our Maytag range seems to be failing. Intermittently, the clock and all of the read-outs on the panel go black and the buttons become non-responsive, and the oven stops heating. Then a few minutes later the panel might become operative again. Lately it seems to be happening with greater frequency. If possible I'd like to confirm that the control panel is actually the problem before I order a new one. Can you please tell me how I can confirm that the problem is in the control panel and that the problem will be fixed by replacing the control panel? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Peter. If there is power coming to the clock, and then it goes blank, you will need to replace the control WP5760M305-60. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
