None of the buttons such as "Bake" on the left side of the touch panel no longer work. The clock is fine, the number pad on the right is fine, as are the two timer "buttons" I suspect the touch panel or Control Panel is the issue. I have also noticed some of the insulation on the left side of the oven door is charred and am guessing maybe some heat escaped and somehow damaged the left side of the Control Panel. My wife insisted on a repair man coming over and he wrote that it needs a "display board" . I can find a control board, but no display board and I suspect he means the control panel. What do you think? Thank you

Hello Eric. Based on the information you provided, the control panel WPW10206068 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. WP8507P232-60 is the display board, but with the button issue, it sounds more like the panel that is bad.

Theda, With the clock being operational but some of the keys not working then the issue with the unit is going to most likely be caused by a faulty control panel WPW10206068.

The touchpad on my Jenn Air stove no longer is working. From what I have read, heat from the oven has separated the touchpad connections so that none of the buttons will work when pressed, although the clock still is lit up but can't be changed to the correct time. I want to make sure before I order a new part if I only need a new touchpad assembly or is the problem in the control board and need that too. The touchpad was replaced once before but I can't remember if the control board was replaced at the same time as well.

Hello Steve. All the information you provided does lead to a bad touch pad. You can unplug the ribbon cable and clean it and reseat it and see if some of the buttons start working. If so, replace the touch pad.

Rob for Model Number JDS9860BDS

My touch pad has slowly stopped working. First a couple of buttons stopped then everything but the clock and the timer stopped working. I think I need this control panel to correct the problem. If that is correct, I see the screws under the panel that need to be removed, but will I need to remove the two screws near each of the igniters to get the top off? These screws on my range are completely rusted. You really can't even make out the head. How should I go about removing these? I have pictures if that would be helpful. Thank you!

Rob, The control panel would most likely be the cause of the unit keypad not working. You will want to check the ribbon harness to make sure that there is no corrosion and that it has a good connection. If there is corrosion you can use a electrical contact cleaner to clean the harness. If this checks ok then the control panel is the most likely cause and the main top would not need to be removed in order to change out the control panel.
