Mark for Model Number msmith97@woh.rr.com

I have a Kitchen Aid - KSSO42QM side by side and the compressor is on top of the unit and I notice the Fan Motor clicks on and off intermittently sometimes in fast little intervals. Everything seems to be functioning properly however it just doesn't sound right. The compressor is quite warm and sometimes the digital display flashes when we open the refrigerator door which I do not recall that happening before. It seems as if something within the power supply box is clicking on and off the whole system intermittently. It even makes a clicking sound as if it's a mechanical device clicking on and off the whole assembly up top even though all else appears ok. Any ideas? Thanks, Mark

Mark, The fan and the controls are controlled by the main control board of the unit and you will need to be replace the main board for this issue.

Hello Brandon, the display/user interface board is connected through the lower freezer door wire harness to the ref cabinet harness and goes to the main control board W10121049, This may be due to a wire harness or connector problem at the lower door hinge.

Ed, Based on the information listed I would try to determine if the click is from the inverter board and if so it would need to be replaced.

Thomas, it is possible that the main control W10818296 is not operating properly. However, it would be recommended that the freezer thermistor WP2188820 is tested to identify that it is reading within tolerance. At 0°F the thermistor resistance should measure between 22100O-23500O. At 5°F it should read between 18900O-20000O, and at 10°F it should read between 16200O-17200O. If the thermistor reads within one of those ranges at the specified temperature, or between the tolerance ranges when the temperature is between two specified temps, the main control would be the likely cause.

Mike, Per the manufacturer, there is a service kit to resolve this issue. One of the boards was discontinued and that's why this kit was put together. This is the part number and it comes with the harness and instructions. W10789107

Not2leight for Model Number KSSC48QVS02

Hi- I made a dumb move while changing one of my refrigerator lites...tried to adjust the contacts in the socket while the power was on. It sparked and the refer lost power and will not turn back on. When I press the on/off button on the control panel it lights up for a few seconds and there are muffled clicking sounds as if the refer is trying to start up. I'm hoping it is the Electronic Control Board (AP6007276) or p.c. Board Power Supply (AP6006874) component that I probably compromised. Any help is greatly appreciated!

1 Answer

Not2leight, It appears that the control board W10219462 will be the one that controls the lights. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued by the manufacturer. You could try a company called CoreCentricsolutions.com and they may be able to rebuild this board for you.

Dave, to ensure that the most accurate information can be presented, the full model number would be necessary. If the model number could be provided in a new inquiry, this will allow for the circuits to be identified accurately.

Asif, It appears that the power supply board would go to the dispenser and to the lights in the unit.
