Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Board, Relay (Part Number: OEM12287013)

1 Answer

Jerry, this model would use the lower relay control 12001914 and the upper relay control 74006613. Unfortunately, both parts have been discontinued by the manufacturer and are no longer available.

Jerry, You would need to slide the oven out just a little and remove the control panel. To remove the control panel, open the oven door as wide as possible. Remove the 3 screws from the top of the control panel and the 3 screws from the bottom. Grab the control panel on either side and pull out and down to disengage. You will then have access to the relay boards.

Oliver for Model Number Jenn Air oven #W30400B

When the oven reaches the set temperature, there is a chime to let you know it has been reached. However within a minute, a F5 error will appear with a constant beep alarm. After several attempts to cancel/program temperature/F5 alarm, the oven will stablize and not produce a F5 error/alarm. Is this caused by a faulty #74006613 oven relay board or a faulty oven sensor #12001656? If so, is there a replacement for #74006613? Thank you very much!

1 Answer

Oliver, The f5 error would be a issue with overtemp. Check the oven sensor for resistance of 1090 ohms at room temp. If the resistance is good then check the wiring between the sensor and the board and if this is ok then the board will be the issue.

Chris A for Model Number JJW9630BAQ

Our Jennair wall oven has error code F2. When this occurs the oven has basically locked up with the lower heating element of the main oven full on. When this happens the front panel becomes non-responsive and the only way to turn the oven off is via the oven circuit breaker. We have measured the temperature sensor value and it is within range for room temperature. It also has been removed and re-installed. The recommended fix for the F2 error code is replacing the power relay board (74006613). I am somewhat skeptical that replacing the power relay board will fix the lockup of the front panel. I am open to any suggestions you might have. Also, there appear to be 2 power relay boards, one for the upper oven and one for the lower oven. Which relay board belongs to the upper oven (left or right one facing the oven)? Also, how do we know we are ordering the correct board? Thank you.

1 Answer

Chris, If the relay on the control board is stuck where the unit is staying on high then this would cause the issue of the control panel being non responsive. You will want to replace the board for the oven that is having the overheating issue. The relay board for the upper oven is 74006613 and lower oven is 12001914. They do look different in appearance so you would be able to determine which one goes where.

Rob for Model Number ww30430 jenn-air convection oven, doulble wall oven

I have a jenn-air convection wall oven approximately 1997 model. Recently it has been preheating noticeably more slowly. The broiler element and the baking element both can glow red hot. The baking element does not glow hot until it preheats to about 250-275 then it will glow red and seems to work fine the rest of the way. Once the oven is heated, it maintains temperature correctly, cycling red hot when necessary to maintain temperature. What could be causing the slower preheating? Everything on control panel seems to work correctly, Thanks

1 Answer

Rob, This issue sounds like the relay board may not be clicking over to allow the bake element to come on properly and once it heats it allows it to fully engage. This would most likely be in the relay board.

Ralph, With the touchpad having been replaced 2 times and still not working then the control board that it connect to would be the most likely cause for this issue.

Tim for Model Number JJW9630AAB

I have a dbl. convection oven, the top baking element stopped working. I replaced bottom element, still doesn't work. I then checked the ohms for old element with a continuity of 20, so the original element is still good. I tapped the relays for the upper oven and the element would work intermittently, I assume the I will need the relay board. The lower oven relays flash a green when the relay closes. The upper relay flashed green only when I tap is and the bake element will then go on for a short time. I assume the upper relay board is different from the lower oven but the part doesn't indicate.

1 Answer

Tim, The upper relay board for your unit is part number 74006613 and based on your description, you would be correct to replace it.
