Larry for Model Number 10659542991

I recently ordered and replaced the run capacitor AP3128490 (999509) from appliance parts pros after determining that this part was not holding a residual charge and checking resistance. The replacement appeared to correct the issue, however after the refrigerator cooled to the correct temperature it will not cycle on again unless I unplug the unit or turn off at the thermostat or cold control and turn back on again. Is the problem with the cold control? or is there another issue that would cause this problem?

1 Answer

Hello Larry. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the cold control is bad and will need to be replaced.

Hello Robert! The capacitor 999509 is compatible with your Kenmore unit. When using the compatibility tool the full model number, 106.58567891, would have to be entered in order for the tool to verify the compatibility with your unit. Thanks.

Maureen, On the side of the compressor where the start relay is there will be a blue and white wire coming off of the relay. At the other end of these wires they would be connected to the capacitor.
