Tyler December 01, 2018 for Model Number GHW9400PW1 My washer won't allow selection of certain wash cycles. The knob will be turned to normal wash, but the light will skip that station and settle on a different cycle. This is true for a few of the cycles, and so we've had to customize the settings for "brightest whites" instead of using the normal cycle setting. Additionally, the washer will beep continuously in no discernible pattern throughout the wash cycle. Besides these things, it locks, washes, and unlocks just fine, with no error codes. (Besides once there was a SUD error, but the washer seemed to carry on after it drained a bit.) The washer does shake quite a bit, I'm wondering whether the beeping is due to a motion sensor? Or will the control unit need replacing? Thanks for any help!
1 Answer Tyler, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty user interface board which will be part number [AP60011833]. Read More...

Eric May 17, 2013 for Model Number GHW9400PL1 Model # ghw9400pl1 the machine I put in normal wash the like in 22 minutes left she stop and gave me like "f" code or like 6 f code I put cancel and them I put it in the start mode and start at 22 minutes but it takes like 5 minutes to drop 1 minute. What is your opinion thank you.
1 Answer Eric, The F6 error code is an indicator that there is a Drive motor tachometer error. You will want to check the wire harness connections between the drive motor and the motor control unit and between the motor control unit and the central control unit. Check the MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor. and check the drive motor for powered rotations. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Randy. A Door Lock Error occurs if the door cannot be locked. It will try to lock it six times before displaying the error code. Door lock mechanism is broken or removed from door. ¦ Door switch/lock unit failure. 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Check door switch/lock unit. 3. Check the wire harness connections to the door switch/lock unit and Central Control Unit (CCU). Read More...
Em November 11, 2011 for Model Number GHW9400PW1 Last night my machine gave me an F6 error code. I turned off the machine and unplugged it. When I plugged it in and tried again I was given an F11 error code. I stopped the machine and tried again. This time I heard a few popping sounds and again was given an F11 error code. I've looked on your trouble shooting page and see that it might be a CCU or MCU problem and that I should check the wire harness. Can you tell me if this is what I should do and how specifically to check the wire harness (that seems to be the easiest place to start). Thank you.
1 Answer EM, Your error codes indicate the motor control unit W10756692 and the central control unit WP8182697 aren't communicating. You'll need to check the wire harness between the two components for loose conections or damage. then check the harness from the MCU to the motor. Also when you remove the lower access panel you should find your tech data sheet/wiring diagram and you can run the various tests in the information sheet. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Wade A. September 08, 2011 for Model Number GHW9400pw4 I have a busted control knob, but it also broke the part the knob hooks to, which is inside the control board. It is a little grey gear that easily comes out of the board. Is just this little gear available? It would save me from having to buy the whole board, which I do not need.
1 Answer Hello Wade! Unfortunately, the part you are needing is not available separate from the board WP8182717 itself. Sorry! Read More...
Lewis S. August 07, 2011 for Model Number GHW9400SU0 It turns off in middle of cycle like electricity turns off but it is good if we unplug and plug back in. It will run for a few minutes. We can run full cycle by unplugging and plugging back in and it takes about hour and half.
1 Answer Hi Lewis. Are there any fault codes? If Not then you will need to access the tech. sheet and try to put in a field service test. It is either in a packet behind the lower panel or under the top cover. This way instead of guessing (without any codes), then it will focus on the area of fault by just pushing buttons correctly to get into the service mode. We are here to help, let us know if we can further. Thank you. Read More...
