Ray S. January 30, 2015 for Model Number 106.73206300 Damper Control 2204991 Fresh food section was at 60 degrees. Freezer evaporator fan duct had ice buildup and fan was not running. Removed fan and spun shaft (presumed it thawed out). Reinstalled fan and stayed running except fresh food section never cooled. Found damper door from freezer control never opened (even set at 1). Wired open half way and now fresh food has stayed at 42 degrees for several days and no ice buildup on evap duct. However, ice cream crystallizes and compressor runs for two hours before shutting off. Please clarify operation. Seems confusing that freezer control thermistor is in fresh food and reacts to temp there to open and close damper (closes as fresh food section cools?). Is it possible that fresh food control thermostat is also bad? Or if the damper actually opens and closes with replacement of freezer control that will correct the issue? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Ray, This unit has a mechanical damper so you will need to make sure it is operating properly. If so, replacing the cold control 2204991 should solve the issue. Read More...
Bill February 17, 2014 for Model Number 10671209100 Water is flowing down into the refrigerator from the freezer compartment, and ice is building up below the tray in the freezer and blocking the drain hole that leads to the pan on the bottom of the refrigerator.
