Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Front Cover (Part Number: OEM17969115)

Photios Stellas, Yes, the first thing that you will want to check for your refrigerator water dispenser would be the dispenser switch bracket WP2180226. This bracket holds the switches in place and if the pins on the bracket break it will cause the dispenser lever to not make contact with the switch and depress it for water. To check this you will need to take the cover off the dispenser. To remove the cover, first remove the drip tray in the dispenser then look at the bottom part of the cover and there will be 2 slots. You use a flat blade screwdriver to slide into the opening and pry out on the cover. Once the cover is loose just lift off and check the switch to make sure that it is not moving around.

Hello Kasturi, All you need is 8201756. Be aware that you need to practice putting this part in several times before removing the protective paper coating that covers the self adhesive areas. If these areas stick, the sticky stuff will come off making the part un-installable. Once you feel comfortable with inserting the part without touching anything, give it a try. The instructions also tell you to cut off the remaining parts of the broken hinge tabs. Leave them on and use them to line up the new part so the ice door will shut to the proper position.
