Yana February 22, 2021 for Model Number MDB7749SAM1 I see from other answers that I cannot just buy the gasket for #WP8559850 and the whole part isn't available right now due to back order. One of the flaps on my gasket is torn off, but the other one is fine. I NEVER raise or lower my top rack - its ALWAYS in the same place. If I'm understanding the way this works, I should be able to continue to use the diswasher as long as orient the drawer in such a way that probe goes into the hole WITHOUT the flap, right? That way the intact flap can seal up the other hole.
1 Answer Yana, you are correct " I should be able to continue to use the dishwasher as long as I orient the drawer in such a way that probe goes into the hole WITHOUT the flap, right? That way the intact flap can seal up the other hole." In the meantime, the manufacturer expects the part to arrive at their warehouse within the next 7 to 10 days, You may want to check back in a few days, or place your order now so it will ship to you as soon as we receive it from the manufacturer? Jonathan February 10, 2020 for Model Number KUDC10FXSS5 Top rack dishes are not cleaning. I replaced the top spinner piece. Also replaced spray arm seal. I don't think water is coming through to the top anymore. Not sure if replacing WPW10077863 will help. Could this be a pump problem?
1 Answer Jonathan, the water feed tube can be inspected for any cracks or clogs, and it would be recommended that the impeller 8193951A is inspected for any broken fins or looseness from the motor shaft. If the impeller is not broken or loose, then the motor WPW10239401 would be the most likely failure. This can be tested by accessing the motor, removing the capacitor wires, and testing from motor terminal pin 2 to pin 3 which should measure 3 to 7O, and then from pin 2 to the non-jumpered yellow wire for 6 to 10O of resistance. Brian September 02, 2019 for Model Number MDBH979SAM1 Hello - the top rack of my dishwasher is not cleaning properly. Looking at the tube from the top rack spinner, it is not matching up with either of the back ports (matches only about half of either port). Because of this, I don't believe that there's any water getting to the top rack spinner. The rack has two adjustment options and neither of these will match up. Are there any options to repair this? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Brian, check the water fill tube if loose and has dropped, next the upper rack water spray arm supply tube and hanger for any problems, next check upper rack at the position adjusters for excess play. Read More...
Jack June 05, 2019 for Model Number MDB8949 Glasses on the top rack have not been getting clean. I noticed that the flapper that's not in use is slightly open so I ordered a new water supply tube (AP6013251 (WP8559850)). However the flappers on the new tube also seem to be quite loose--i.e at rest they are slightly ajar rather than sitting in the sealed position. Is this normal? Thanks.
1 Answer Jack, Yes, the new seals in the water supply tube will " seem to be quite loose", but will conform and seal to the docking port opening once the hot, pressurized water has run through the system properly. You may want to check and make sure the water level in the bottom of the tub is high enough and hot enough for proper operation. Start the dishwasher, allow it to fill and wash for a few minutes, unlatch the door, remove the lower rack. The water level in the tub should be touching the bottom of the heating element, if not, there's not enough water to properly make the wash pump circulate the water and force it up to the upper spray arms so they rotate properly, and the water temp. should be 110-120 dgrs.F. Joe January 08, 2019 for Model Number MDB8959SAS1 Can you just buy the gasket that is in the Water Supply Tube? I literally only need to replace that piece of rubber.
Thomas November 16, 2017 for Model Number GU2455STXQUO The spinner arm on the middle rack has water dripping out, but does not spin, the top sprayer does not have water or move at all. It appears the water is not able to make it all the way up the tube with pressure. I have looked for any blockage and see none. Ideas what parts need replaced?
1 Answer Hello Thomas. Make sure the water level in the unit is good and the filters are not clogged in the unit. If either is bad, it will cause the issue your having with the unit. Thank you. Read More...
Thomas November 09, 2017 for Model Number GU2455STXQUO The inside of the glasses are no longer getting clean. When I pull out the rack, the port I am using at the top has the flap open even when the manifold is out, does the flap need to move to make the system work when the rack is pushed in? I am not sure why the spinner arm does not work.
1 Answer Hello Thomas, The flap should only close when the rack is moved to the other position so water pressure will not be lost. The issue can be caused by a stopped up filter screen, a separating spray arm, or a low water fill. Most commonly, it is caused by a low water fill from low water pressure to the unit or a failing water inlet valve WPW10158389 if the model number is GU2455XTSQ0. Read More...
Jeff March 17, 2017 for Model Number MDB8959SBS2 I was cleaning out the food chopper and when taking the arm assembly off i failed to fully remove the arm from the metal clip and i detached the clip from the tub. It looks like it is a press fit part however i cannot get it to go back in and I don't see a replacement for it. Is the only way to fix it to replace the tub? If so is it critical to have the clip?
1 Answer Jeff, If the choppper arm fell off the shaft that goes through the screen then you will want to change the chopper which is part number W10083957V. Read More...
Mark January 20, 2016 for Model Number kuds01flss6 Is there any reason this needs to be replaced, or can't I just glue shut the one failed valve I never use?
1 Answer Hello Mark. It is not recommended to glue the part shut. It is recommended to replace the manifold if the flapper is missing. Thank you. Read More...
