Stephen, there should be 3 check balls in the model provided. There should be a smaller one WP302709 directly under the filter housing, then the two larger ones WP719929 located just below the first. If there is one missing, it could potentially affect the operation of the unit.

KGirl, Thanks for the question!!! Soak in the sink using a mild soap such as Dawn dish soap. Just make sure that the filter is rinsed really well of all soap. If not you may flood the kitchen with suds when you use the dishwasher.

Hello Scott. You will need to check all parts and make sure none is bad. You can watch the video on the impeller kit 675806 and see how they should look when installed into the unit properly. If yours does not look like this, you will need to replace the kit on the unit. Thank you.

Hello Frustrated, This issue is normally related to an over-soap condition. This is the only way water can get up into the float to leak out at that location. I would first try killing the suds with a tablespoon of vegetable oil. Following this, do a sanitation cycle with one quart of white vinegar and the heat assist to rid the unit of the vegetable oil. The screens should not be stopped up so there could be a restriction in the drain.
