Abigail October 10, 2017 for Model Number ET19RKXGN01 My fridge is not cooling down like it's supposed to but my freezer is working fine. Is it the heater or the defrost bimetal that needs replaced?
1 Answer Abigail, You will want to test each the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat for continuity. If they have continuity they would be good. If not then they are faulty and would need replaced. If both check ok then the issue will be a faulty defrost control. Read More...
Scooter December 03, 2015 for Model Number ET18TKXDN05 Bought a defrost heater from you after the 18 yr old original burnt out, new one only lasted a couple of months then burnt out? Ideas, suggestions? I have put hundreds in and very rarely has the replacement only lasted a couple of months
1 Answer Hello Scooter. Test and make sure it is the heater and not the timer or thermostat. It is not likely that the heater failed in just a few months. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Steve March 01, 2012 for Model Number et18pkxgw00 In our appliance, water and ice begin forming in the bottom of the refrigerator. In the freezer the bottom under the tray is filled with asolid sheet of ice. The drain hole in the back gets frozen with ice too. The evaporator fan does come on, so it would seem to be the heater. Would this be right???
