The pulley where the belt raps around and then gets attached to the motor to turn the drum, does not have a wheel contained in it as the replacement part.I have already purchased the belt before I took apart the cabinet, found the old belt in half, but when I went to install the new belt,I noticed it had no plastic wheel. Is it worth my time to wait and order the part you show as a replacement or can I use the old part which has no wheel

1 Answer

Joe, You will want to wait until you get the idler pulley for your unit because if you do not the belt will not turn properly and it will break again.

Scott, If the bushing that you are referring to is part of the idler pulley then you would need to get the idler pulley for the unit. If the part is on the motor then the motor would need replaced.

Make sure the belt doesn't have any twists in it ribs face down/against the drum and is outed over the drum in the proper location area of the drum. Then check and make sure the belt is routed through the opening in the idler spring assembly and onto the motor pulley properly. Recheck using the video and photos under the 341241 belt part diagram.

Hello Jim, This WP691366 is the early and current configuration of this part. The manufacturer thought they could profit from this new design which wasn't lasting as long as the part warranty, so it was discontinued. You will need the configuration with the rotating wheel WP691366.

Hello Mike, Besides the manufacturers' recommendation of replacing both glides at the same time, you can lubricate them with a dry lubricant such as baby powder or corn starch, and ensure the exhaust duct is clear with a full 4 inch diameter. The smoothness of the drum is necessary also.
