Brat, The metal piece inside the washplate was in the original and will most likely still be stuck on the shaft.

Hello Jeffrey, You should first unplug the machine and tilt it back to access the bottom. Remove the pulley cover and belt so the splutch assembly can be removed and inspected for cracks, wear, and otherwise damaged parts. If these look good there will either be an issue with the shift actuator WPW10006355 or the gearcase W11454372.

Jim, there could be a few things that could cause this issue. It would be recommended that the unit is checked for any error codes through the diagnostic mode. This can be done using the technical sheet found under the top panel (usually on the inside of the front panel near a corner). If there is not an error code, the main control would need to be accessed and the wires at the connection J2. With the unit in a manual diagnostic mode and set to agitate, the black meter probe would be placed at the wire on pin 3 and the red meter probe on the wire at pin 1. After setting the manual test to agitate, there should be a 0VDC reading. Once verified, the unit would be set to a spin mode and it should read 5VDC. If the voltage checks good, it is likely that the shifter WPW10006355 is not operating properly and would need to be replaced.

Naser, The driveshaft will be part of the bearing and shaft assembly. The part number for this will be W10435302 and there is a video on appliancepartspros.com that will show you how to do this.

Hello Terry, This is not normal. The washplate is held on the gearcase shaft with a bolt. The washplate W10752285 should be removed to see if the movement is in the washplate or in the gearcase shaft. If in the gearcase shaft, the gearcase W11454734 will have to be replaced.

Steve, Get a rope under the washplate and pull straight up and it should come loose. It is clipped into place and should lift off or may have detergent build up on it that is causing it to stick.

Steve, The F8 E1 error code is for the unit taking too long to fill. Check the water supply to make sure that it is turned on and check to make sure that the screens are not clogged. As for the the transmission being stripped, it would be unlikely that the transmission would be stripped unless the shaft is stripped where the agitator sits. Would recommend a new wash plate and then try.

Hello Joe. No, usually these go bad from overloading the unit. Make sure when you install it you have it seated all the way down on the unit also.
