Brat August 24, 2023 for Model Number WTW5640XW3 We bought your part WPW10215115 wash plate, which does not come with the metal shield. The old wash plate we removed does not have a metal shield. Is it necessary to have the metal plate?
1 Answer Brat, The metal piece inside the washplate was in the original and will most likely still be stuck on the shaft. Read More...
Jeffrey October 07, 2021 for Model Number WTW5800BW0 Washer agitates very feebly, barely moving the agitator plate. It does everything else, including spin. Is this likely the agitator plate itself?
1 Answer Hello Jeffrey, You should first unplug the machine and tilt it back to access the bottom. Remove the pulley cover and belt so the splutch assembly can be removed and inspected for cracks, wear, and otherwise damaged parts. If these look good there will either be an issue with the shift actuator WPW10006355 or the gearcase W11454372. Read More...

Jim March 30, 2021 for Model Number WTW5700AC0 Whirlpool Cabrio washer wash plate spins super fast on the start then the machine just stops. Removed wash plate checked splines and shaft (good) retightened. A failure inside the transmission? Thanks Jim
1 Answer Jim, there could be a few things that could cause this issue. It would be recommended that the unit is checked for any error codes through the diagnostic mode. This can be done using the technical sheet found under the top panel (usually on the inside of the front panel near a corner). If there is not an error code, the main control would need to be accessed and the wires at the connection J2. With the unit in a manual diagnostic mode and set to agitate, the black meter probe would be placed at the wire on pin 3 and the red meter probe on the wire at pin 1. After setting the manual test to agitate, there should be a 0VDC reading. Once verified, the unit would be set to a spin mode and it should read 5VDC. If the voltage checks good, it is likely that the shifter WPW10006355 is not operating properly and would need to be replaced. Read More...

Terry J. August 22, 2019 for Model Number 110.25132411 The wash plate spins freely and wobbles. Is this normal? Should it do this?
1 Answer Hello Terry, This is not normal. The washplate is held on the gearcase shaft with a bolt. The washplate W10752285 should be removed to see if the movement is in the washplate or in the gearcase shaft. If in the gearcase shaft, the gearcase W11454734 will have to be replaced. Read More...
Steve February 17, 2018 for Model Number WTW5640W0 My Cabrio won't agitate. Have removed cover and bolt, it lifts maybe an 1/8" and stops like it hit something. Am leery of tugging and breaking it. Am I missing anything? Help?
1 Answer Steve, Get a rope under the washplate and pull straight up and it should come loose. It is clipped into place and should lift off or may have detergent build up on it that is causing it to stick. Read More...
Steve August 14, 2015 for Model Number WTW4950XW2 Whirlpool My washplate was spinning freely. Tried tightening it to no avail. Repairman pulled washplate. It is stripped and he said transmission is also stripped (although he did not inspect transmission). Said "buy a new washer." Have not replaced washplate. Getting F8 E1 code (No fill, long fill). Washer fills but seems to take a long time. What do you think? Test mode works fine, fill, agitate, drain, spin.
1 Answer Steve, The F8 E1 error code is for the unit taking too long to fill. Check the water supply to make sure that it is turned on and check to make sure that the screens are not clogged. As for the the transmission being stripped, it would be unlikely that the transmission would be stripped unless the shaft is stripped where the agitator sits. Would recommend a new wash plate and then try. Read More...
