Rhonda, We are not show a 9" duct that is available but if you are measuring the outer dimensions of the outside cover then the A406 would be correct as long as the duct that it connects to is 6".

Polly, Yes, the Jenn Air A406 Wall Cap is made of heat resistant "Plastic". It's not normal or common for that hood to warp or melt, you may need to have the venting system checked and or cleaned. You can also check the local home improvement center or air conditioning supply dealer for a metal 6 inch vent cap with flapper.

James, No this is a wall cap for a jenn air downdraft and would not be recommended for a dryer.

Hello James, This is a 6 inch wall cap and it will not work properly for a dryer. You would need to order RVHAW4/18 for this application.

John, to the best of our knowledge, No, no one makes a 6 inch vent hood in the configuration you require. You may want to try using a 6 inch "roof jack" vent cover. or install a 90 dgr. elbow and install a "wall jack" cover. The idea of the vent hood, is to keep outside air from migrating up the vent, through the blower assembly and into the house, and to keep animals out of the vent system. Based on your post, you're going to need something on the end of that exhaust pipe.
