Bob October 26, 2016 for Model Number MDB7100AWB Soap in dispenser is getting wet and coagulates and clumps not being dispensed into the washer. The rubber seal is hard and depressed at points around the door. Will a new detergent cup lid solve this problem? Thank you.
1 Answer Bob, If the dispenser door is opening, no, a new dispenser will not solve the issue. You'll need to check and make sure the dishwasher fills properly, Water should touch the bottom of the heater element if the dishwasher is filling properly. The water temperature in the bottom of the tub should be at least 120 dgrs.F. Then check the spray arms to make sure there isn't any debris or deposits blocking the openings in the spray arms. Check and make sure there is nothing large on the bottom of the tub, or in the front of the racks that may block or redirect the water away from the detergent dispenser. Read More...
Don December 10, 2015 Model #dwu7450 The despinsing cup lid won't stay closed when we put in the soap. Does it just need to be taken apart and cleaned or new parts?
1 Answer Don, The most likely cause for the dispenser door to not close when the soap is put in would be a either a wax motor that is bad or the spring for the latch has come loose. Read More...
Bob October 23, 2015 for Model Number MDB6100 The spring loaded pin is missing from the soap dispenser lid. I cannot find the missing pin and spring will this create a problem? If I buy a new cover are the pins included? Bob

John September 04, 2015 for Model Number MDB7100AWB My dishwasher dispenser won't open when the wash cycle comes on.
1 Answer Hello John. You will need to access the inner panel on the unit and check for broke parts. If there is no broke parts, you will need to check and see if the wax motor WP902899 is bad on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Rick S December 07, 2013 for Model Number MDB6000AWW Replaced both wax motors which cycle is working properly but detergent cup lid doesn't open until I open door after complete cycle, I think that the detergent cup lid is warped because all lid latch snaps back quick when released.
1 Answer Rick, Wouldn't expect the detergent cup lid to be the issue. but you may want to check and make sure there is no residual detergent or rinse agent accumulated around the latch grommet WP99001553 and latch WP99001291, any residue could delay the latch release. If all's OK, you'll need to verify 120 VAC from the timer to the wax motor, approximately 2 minutes into the main wash cycle. If the voltage is present, then there's a mechanical failure in the dispenser. If the voltage isn't present, the issue is in the wiring or the timer Read More...

Patti S December 17, 2012 for Model Number DWU8250AAX My detergent dispenser doesn't open during the wash cycle. I noticed the seal on the dispenser cover is deteriorating a bit. Could that be part of it? At what point in the cycle should it open?
1 Answer Hello Patti, It is possible that the seal on the dispenser cover could keep door from opening but usually not likely. The unit will open the dispenser door at the beginning of the main wash cycle. If you put on normal it would fill and wash 2 times and on the 3rd fill is when the door is supposed to open. You can check voltage to the dispenser to see if it is getting proper power to allow door to open. If proper power is at dispenser then you would need to replace the dispenser assembly. You would check between white/orange and gray wires on the dispenser for 120vac. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
1 Answer Hello Peter, There are quite a few configurations in the dishwasher dispensers. Without a model number all I can do is advise to check the dispenser mechanism for voltage when it should open in the wash cycle. If voltage is there, replace the mechanism, (motor, wax motor, solenoid, etc...), and if there is no voltage, change the timer or control board. If you could re-post with a model number we can be more specific in the diagnosis, right down to the terminals and wire colors you need to check. Read More...
Leo August 30, 2011 for Model Number DWU7802AAM Taking off the detergent cup lid; how do you get the pin/spring out. Is it like replacing a watch band where you need a very small screw driver?? Thank You.
1 Answer Leo, you're right on the ball, Yes you will need to use a small blade screw driver to remove the two(2) lid hinge pins, Use the screwdriver to "slide" the pins towards the center of the door until they "clear" the door liner pin openings. Be careful, don't loose the the lid spring and remember the orientation, so the lid will "pop" open after the repair is complete. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Stan June 28, 2011 for Model Number MDB4040AWA Two questions. If I order the entire lid, will it include the pins and spring? Is the pin in the spring end the shorter of the two? That's what it says on parts list but it looks like the spring end would be longer.
1 Answer Hello Stan, the lid WP99002354 will come with just the lid. If you need the the pins and springs they will have to be ordered separate. The spring is part number WPY912547, the short hinge that is used on the spring end is WPY912679 and the long hinge is WP6-912678. Hope this helps! Read More...
